Situated in a prominent position overlooking Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island the new yacht club is arranged to create a striking form on the shore line. The form of the new building is characterised by a mono pitch roof form arranged over a simple flat roof element. The appearance has been informed by the views out of the site and a high degree of transparency to the building envelope. This allows for good visibility out to the harbour for the members and allowing the new club house to benefit from good natural light to the social areas. (more…)

We were commissioned by Portsmouth Water to produce a feasibility study and masterplan for their new Havant Campus. The brief for the project evolved from a strategic review of the business by an independent work place consultant and was driven by the desire to have an integrated working arrangement, bringing all the functions of Portsmouth Water under one roof. Sea View Place, and the converted office building adjacent, is an example of the increasing move towards city centre living in Southampton. In the past 5+ years more people have seen the benefits and attractiveness of living close to the city’s key facilities including those offering jobs, transport or leisure. We have been working for some time with Ankers and Rawlings Developments Ltd on proposals to expand and evolve this large site close to Ringwood and the A31. Outline Permission was granted in 2016 for various employment uses with a total floor space of 33,400sqm (360,000sqft). This covers Office, Research & Development, Light Industrial, General Industrial, and Storage & Distribution uses (B1a, B1b, B1c, B2, & B8) and a small element of A1, A3, A5, D1, & D2 space. Woolsbridge Industrial Estate is situated between Three Legged Cross and Ashley Heath around 2 miles from the A31. At just over 15 hectares it is one of the largest industrial estates in Dorset.
We were appointed by Lothbury Investment Management to assist them with the redevelopment of the Dolphin Retail and Industrial Park on Southampton Road in Salisbury. Our involvement included preparing an outline application and reserved matters, as well as the technical delivery of the building on site. The project is for new A1 bulky goods (non-food) outlets and the site is midway between Churchill Gardens and Petersfinger Park-and-Ride. The site fronts on to the A36 trunk road linking Salisbury with Southampton along what is often referred to as the gateway to Salisbury city centre. (more…)
