Ocean Infinity (OI) are a world-leading marine robotics company. Their new state-of-the-art, remote control and data centre, on the former Vosper Thornycroft shipyard, ensures this historic site continues to have a significant role to play in marine development. Sustainability is a key aspect of OI’s business, so it was important that our proposals reflected this. Low embodied energy materials, exposed ceilings, natural timber finishes and biophilic features were just some of the sustainably-focussed solutions employed. A double-height reception area with sculptural, spiral staircase provides an impactful entrance, whilst the control centre houses specialised units from which OI personnel command its robotic ships and underwater vehicles around the world.
