It was brilliant to see the amazing work that has gone into the new high-tech facilities at Fareham College, which will mean young people starting our new high-quality T Levels will have access to state-of-the-art equipment.
Fareham College’s Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) is the home of the pioneering Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeship, estimated to deliver over 1,600 groundwork and civil engineering apprenticeships over the next five years alone.
Located on the College’s Solent Airport site, the circa £4m project provides just over 1,000m² of high-quality teaching and learning space in a state-of-the art facility, together with over 5,000m² of live outdoor construction-site training space.
Boyle+Summers acted as RIBA Stage 4-5 architects, working closely with Amiri (Contractor) and PMc (EA/QS), to deliver this award-winning project which completed in October 2019.
Since opening, CETC has been judged ‘Apprentice Initiative of the Year’ at the Prestigious Construction Excellence SECBE awards and ‘Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the Year’ at the FE Week and AELP ACC Apprenticeship Awards.
